Our Qualifications
Licensed​
We passed the MHIC exam in February 2024. Our MHIC # is 156692, which you can look up on the Maryland Department of Labor website here. Brandt A Witt is the licensed contractor / salesmen, and his MHIC license can be found here. Our association with the license can be found here.
Our official business, Ocean Pines Handyman LLC, is a business in Good Standing with the State of Maryland, which you can search for here. In the meantime, here is our Certificate of Good Standing from the State of MD.

Insured​
We are insured with the Maryland Insurance Group, located in Baltimore, MD. We have $1M general liability policy. You can view our full coverage here. Experienced
Between our seven handymen, we have over 160 combined years of experience.

Michael has worked as a carpenter and painter for over 20 years, including more than 8 years in roofing and decking. He specializes in painting, drywall, framing, and restoration, and once managed painting for 82 investment properties under contract with the Lt. Governor of South Carolina.​
​
Gary has worked in the trades for over 30 years. A classic journeyman, he specializes in roofing, siding, concrete and brick work, and exterior projects, including commercial roofing on major DC landmarks. He brings exceptional skill and attention to detail to every project.
​
Amine has worked in carpentry for over 15 years. A lifelong Ocean Pines local trained in carpentry through vocational school, he brings hands on residential experience and attention to detail to every project, from flooring and trim to painting and siding. He specializes in finish carpentry.
Branden has worked in residential construction for over 15 years. An Eastern Shore native, he has experience in full scale remodels, exterior work, flooring, tile, and finish carpentry. Before joining OPH, he owned his own licensed home improvement company and delivers quality work that lasts.

Joe has worked in carpentry and related trades for over 20 years, specializing in finish carpentry and cabinetry. He brings a strong problem solving mindset to every project and has marine experience on fishing yachts, including boats prepared for the White Marlin Open.
Nesto has worked in painting and related trades for over 20 years, specializing in high quality finishes with added skills in finish carpentry and general handyman work. Before joining OPH, he helped care for Richard Carroll in his later years, reflecting the patience and dependability he brings to every job.
William has worked in construction for over 30 years. He most recently oversaw all maintenance at Windmill Creek Vineyard & Winery in Berlin and worked in the painting department at Home Depot. Now our full time estimator, he is a skilled carpenter who loves mechanical and technical projects.

Rory has worked in the trades for over 20 years and grew up around carpentry. One of our first handymen, he helped build the company in its early days. He specializes in large scale projects such as whole home remodels, and is just as happy on small jobs like pressure washing and electrical work.
​
Dalton has worked in the trades for over 15 years, with a background in flooring, deck building, roofing, siding, and window and door installation. An Ocean Pines local, he also takes on yard work and junk removal, and prides himself on reliability and honest service on every job.

The Final Word
We may not be the cheapest bid, but we believe we will be the best VALUE for your money. Our team is obsessed with quality, and we firmly believe that you will get what you pay for.

If you choose to work with us, here is our process.
​
First, we will coordinate with you for a day for us come out to visit you and provide you with a free estimate. Once you accept the estimate, we will schedule the work. We assure you that we will only be scheduled to work on your job until it is complete. This is to respect your time and to ensure that a quality result is done as quickly as possible. Per MHIC guidelines, we require a 30% deposit for all jobs that are scheduled. And then the last 70% is paid after the agreed upon scope is complete. For some jobs, we require an additional deposit down to pay for the materials. Once the work is complete and you are fully satisfied, we will send you a final invoice.

When choosing a handyman/carpenter/painter, make sure they are licensed and insured. Always ask that question before moving forward. In addition, ask for references and examples of their work.
